What is Peer Review?
Peer review is a fundamental process in academic publishing used to evaluate the quality, originality, and scholarly integrity of a manuscript before publication.
At World Academic Press (WAP), submitted articles, book chapters, and full manuscripts are assessed by independent experts who specialize in the relevant field of study.
The purpose is to ensure each work meets established academic standards, contributes meaningfully to its discipline, and maintains research ethics and methodological rigor.
Transparent Peer Review Models
WAP recognizes the value of traditional single-blind and double-blind review systems. At the same time, we acknowledge the growing importance of transparency in research evaluation.
Where appropriate, WAP supports an Open Peer Review model, allowing greater accountability and constructive scholarly dialogue.
Editorial and Peer Review Procedure
Initial Editorial Screening
All submissions undergo a preliminary review by the editorial team. Manuscripts are checked for scope, originality, structure, ethical compliance, and adherence to guidelines.
External Peer Review
Manuscripts that pass screening are forwarded to qualified subject experts. Reviewers are selected based on academic expertise and research background.
Review Evaluation
Once a reviewer accepts, they are given up to 30 days to completes the report. The review focuses on quality, methodology, contribution, clarity, and significance.
Author Revisions
Reviewer feedback is shared with authors, who are expected to carefully address comments and submit a revised version. Decisions are based on these improvements.
Reviewer Acknowledgment
Where mutually agreed, particularly under Open Peer Review, the names of reviewers may be published alongside the work in recognition of their scholarly contribution.
Internal Editorial Review
For manuscripts not subjected to external review, the editorial board provides structured feedback to ensure quality, clarity, and academic impact.
