Description

Institutional Pressures and Sustainable Procurement: The Role of Dynamic Capabilities in Global Procurement Practice examines why organisations adopt sustainable procurement and how internal capabilities relate to their responses to external demands. Drawing on institutional theory and a global survey of 179 procurement professionals, the book investigates coercive, normative and mimetic pressures through multiple regression, moderation and mediation analyses. The findings show positive associations between all three forms of pressure and sustainable procurement adoption, with mimetic pressure making the strongest contribution. Although the proposed moderating role of dynamic capabilities was not supported, further analysis identified significant mediation relationships. Across six chapters, the monograph presents its theoretical foundations, conceptual framework, research methodology, empirical results and implications for policy and practice. A survey questionnaire is included to support further research. Written for procurement professionals, policymakers, researchers and postgraduate students, the book offers an evidence-based perspective on sustainable purchasing, organisational adaptation and the capabilities associated with responsible procurement in a global context.
